Another Better Call Saul neak peak (I'm overly excited about this show):
I'm putting the odds of Jax sleeping with Vail at 5:2. If that last sentence resonates with you, we should be better friends.
Rest in peace Joe Cocker.
Happy 50th birthday Eddie Vedder.
"The CW is getting into the music industry. The network is teaming with uber-producer Scooter Braun and Tony nominee Todd Graffto develop a music drama, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
"The untitled entry, which has received a script commitment, is set in the ever-evolving world of music, entertainment and social media. It chronicles the rise of Gary Graham, a brilliant young manager with the talent and ambition to shake up the industry, which is a world gone viral: where stars are minted overnight, relationships are constantly tested and careers can be made or crushed with one perfectly placed phone call. Will he manage to stay true to himself while outmaneuvering the roadblocks put in place by clients, lovers and colleagues? It's a fine line.
"The drama will feature original songs and cameos from some of pop culture's biggest names.
"Graff (Broadway's Baby) will pen the script and executive produce the Warner Bros. Television entry alongside Tony Krantz via his Flame Ventures production banner. Braun, who manages Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Psy and Carly Rae Jepsen, among others, will also executive produce via his SB Films unit. Flame's Drew Comins and SB's Danny Rose are set as co-EPs.
"Should the CW music drama go to series, it would mark Braun's second TV scripted project alongside CBS' breakout hit Scorpion, which has already been picked up for a full season." I'm not sure how I feel about this whole project, but overall, not good.
"Kim Dickens, who played suspicious detective Rhonda Boney in Gone Girl, has been cast in the Walking Dead spinoff, EW has confirmed.
"Deadline first reported that Dickens had been cast as the female lead in the pilot, which takes place in the same zombie-infested universe as the original series. Cliff Curtis has been tapped as the male lead. Per Deadline, Dickens will play a guidance counselor in a relationship with Curtis’s character. Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam Carey have also been cast.
"Though Dickens had a breakout movie role this year in David Fincher’s mystery, she has also starred in Deadwood and Treme, and has appeared on Lost, Friday Night Lights, and Sons of Anarchy."
Per TMZ, "Kesha gave her producer, Dr. Luke an over-the-top lovey dovey birthday card that makes it seem like their relationship is anything but abusive ... according to new docs filed by Luke.
"The card reads, 'You just keep getting hotter every year' -- and includes a handwritten note from Kesha which starts with the words ... 'To the FOXXY-est producer EVER!'
"Her note continues ... 'Thank you 4 helping me make my WILDEST dreams come true!' She closes with a gushing, 'I LOVE YOU!'
"Luke submitted the card as an exhibit in his defamation lawsuit against Kesha -- who, of course, is suing him for sexual assault. Luke's attorney claims the card is from 2009 -- several years after Kesha alleges Luke started abusing her." Oh Ke$ha. . .
Finally, another shot at the dolts at A&E who profess the need to go back to crime and suspense programming. "The Robertson clan is back to their hijinks when the A&E Network hit series Duck Dynasty returns for an all-new season on Wednesday, January 7 at 9:30p. Immediately following at 10p, Wahlburgers debuts, as brothers Mark, Donnie and Paul continue to expand the family burger franchise. The night rounds out with the one-hour wedding premiere of Donnie Loves Jenny at 10:30p, which follows Donnie Wahlberg and Jenny McCarthy from preparing for their big day to their first moments as husband and wife." Can't you just feel all of that suspense???
