I have fallen way behind on my viewing this week as I was on the set of Splash again last night for the taping of episode two. I know I have mentioned this show a ton, but having been there for the taping of the first two episodes, I remain a firm believer that this show will find great success. Forget all that you might remember about that abomination on FOX called Stars In Danger. This show is not only about the dives themselves but the individual journeys of the divers. The set is beyond impressive (you will not believe this was shot at an outdoor pool) and the format works. The show will be a lead in for the Dancing With The Stars results show and the promotional muscle ABC has put behind it hopefully will translate into success.
Bravo announced a new show called Fashion Queens, a new limited series airing three consecutive Sundays at 11:30p beginning this weekend. The fashion-based talk show features two of Atlanta's celebrity hairstylists, Derek J and Miss Lawrence, and New York's fashion maven and socialite Bevy Smith. They will cover everything related to the world of fashion, giving their perspective on the trends, hits and misses.
“Bravo viewers have loved watching Derek J and Miss Lawrence tell it like it is for years on our air, so when we saw the opportunity to pair them with Bevy Smith, whose fashion point of view we’ve always admired, we jumped at the opportunity,” said Eli Lehrer, Vice President, Development and Original Programming, Bravo Media. “We think it’s going to make for a totally unique, deliciously outrageous take on the week in fashion.” I think I need to reconsider the Bravo programming that I watch . . . .
Actress Jennifer Esposito is evidently getting her own reality show on E! I'm sure the subject matter will knock your socks off: The actress, who was sidelined by CBS’ cop drama Blue Bloods late last year, has opened her own gluten-free bakery in NYC to meet the needs of those suffering from Celiac disease. Already set to appear in an episode of E!’s first unscripted culinary series Playing With Fire, Esposito said at an NYC screening of Olympus Has Fallenthat she is currently filming a pilot of her own. If picked up by E!, the reality show will follow the actress-turned-entrepreneur as she runs Jennifer’s Way Bakery in the East Village (The Hollywood Reporter).
Before anyone sheds another tear for Bachelor runner-up Lindsay Yenter, she has evidently found love. According to Hollywood Life, “I am seeing somebody. I’m very happy,” Lindsay told Life & Style at Bachelor host Chris Harrison’s clothing line launch for DaVinci of California. “I met my new guy about a month ago,” she says. “It’s crazy, once you’re done filming, you kind of realize what you want and it took about a month just to really mourn the relationship. After that, everything fell into place. I love where I live and I have a great guy in my life.”
Last bit of Bachelor/Bachelorette news, which isn't really news at this point, but Desiree Hartstock is the new Bachelorette ICYMI.
VH1 is still trying, which I applaud. The have announced the premiere date for their new show Off Pitch (April 17 at 10 PM). The show follows the young adult show choir in Wisconsin called the Grand River Singers. I guess this beats Basketball Wives?
